The AUF has developed several online platforms for teachers, researchers, students to promote content and to help develop training courses, especially for developing countries. These platforms are regrouped in a global initiative called IDNEUF and include a global library of resources, an atlas of experts, a catalog of online courses, Moocs and a platform to help higher education institutions to develop and share good practices.
The AUF has also put in place since 90's a network of 60 physical branches, called Campus Numériques Francophones, mostly in developing countries. All these campuses act both physically and virtually, are hosted by member institutions and deliver digital services to the local population, including students and academics. Depending on the local situation - connectivity and content - the services include for example local trainings, fablabs, creation of digital content and courses, organization of research events.

The AUF commits to act and support the three overarching missions though a special COVID-19 plan regrouping several initiatives. This plan covers not only the short term actions - during the crisis - but also medium and long term actions. As a global organisation physically present on the five continents, the AUF is also directly impacted by the crisis and its different temporalities, for national and regional actions as well as for international actions, including international mobilities and scientific projects across countries.
The AUF, the scientific operating body of the Francophonie, and the world's largest university network, is naturally associated with the initiative led by UNESCO: the Global Coalition for Education.
Faced with the recent pandemic, the AUF has adopted a Special Covid-19 plan including a scientific watch, a cycle of online medical conferences, free access to the AUF Digital Library and to the Atlas of Francophone expertise.
Then, our 1007 universities and research centers, adherent members, were able to access free of charge a digital platform to ensure pedagogical continuity for their students.
In the field of research, an exceptional fund of 1 million euros was released, which enabled us to finance a hundred or so very high-level projects from around fifty countries.
