The IEFG is a network of over 100 grantmakers supporting education in the Global South - we are geographically and thematically diverse. Our members are actively working in the GEC's 3 missions, and seek to share and create knowledge, and partnerships that further equity in building back better.

Objectives
Flagship
The IEFG's comparative advantage is connecting initiatives under the GEC's three flagships with those foundations interested in the specific areas. As these initiatives emerge, we ask GEC to share them with the IEFG, who will flag them to specific foundations to connect.
For example: Some IEFG grantmakers work in technology or girls education exclusively. Most IEFG grantmakers support teachers through various PD means. Some focus on country-level advocacy. Some exclusively on out-of-school children or ECD. We have a strong education-in-emergencies group with links to ECW/GPE/INEE. There is a collective underlying commitment to education equity - and a strong interest in evidence-based action.

Commitment
The IEFG is a network of over 100 grantmakers supporting education in the Global South - we are geographically and thematically diverse. Our members are actively working in the 3 missions of the Global Education Coalition and are open to knowledge sharing, knowledge production and collaborations that further equity in education in the present, and looking to build back better. We seek to both strengthen our currently supported grantees and support new initiatives. The IEFG serves as a connecting point for our members. We do not share individual NGO project calls with our members, but connect foundations to wider initiatives where they discuss and support systemic group efforts in education or evidence for education.
