Commitment

Education systems around the world are facing the urgent challenge of how to address school closures caused by COVID-19. Against this backdrop, there is a clear need for guidance and evidence to support and assist countries as they grapple with their response to this pandemic.

The global education technology community has mobilized quickly in support of country-level decision-makers. The EdTech Hub aims to work closely with partners globally and in countries to carry out our mandate: to increase access to and use of evidence to support the appropriate and effective use of technology in education.

Our work will seek to strengthen education systems overall, through the short-term COVID-19 response. We will encourage decision-makers to think about long term impacts and systems strengthening, even though their focus will understandably be on immediate action. We will support them in balancing the need to respond quickly with a future-focused lens.
