We will commit our global platform and talent to tackle connectivity gaps, and support learners and educators. In partnership with others, we plan to offer free rides to teachers and families in need and enable the delivery of meals and back to school kits to the hardest hit students.

Objectives
Flagship
As a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles, Uber is committed to promoting equality through community initiatives and advocacy.
In partnership with others, we plan to offer the following:
- Food parcels to support families unable to access free school meals. This can help ensure the continuity of learning by providing food security for children who are unable to access free meals at school.
- Free rides for members of vulnerable families wishing to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, or other places of cultural significance. This can help ensure continuity of learning for vulnerable families to take home-schooling to some important sites globally.
- Free rides for teachers as schools reopen. This can help preserve the status of teachers by honouring them as essential workers.
- Back-to-school kits for vulnerable families. This can help enable a full and equitable return to school by allowing children to receive needed items.

Commitment
As part of our contribution, we would commit our global platform and talent to tackle connectivity gaps, and support learners and educators. Our teams across the world stand ready to work with local authorities and other partners to design and deploy innovative solutions that will help keep education going for all.
The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the way we live, work and learn. While children have been largely spared of the immediate health effects of the disease, over 1.5 billion learners in 165 countries face school closures. As education is key in helping people move ahead, it is crucial that learning doesn’t stop during the recovery process. The scale of the current crisis requires everyone to do their part, so that no one is left behind.
As the world halted to fight this virus, we quickly adapted to help move what matters and support the communities we serve. Building on our pledge to provide 10 million free rides, meals and deliveries to frontline workers and those in need, we will as part of UNESCO's Coalition offer free rides to teachers and underserved families and look to enable the delivery of meals and back-to-school kits to the hardest-hit students.
