In order to advance progress in closing digital divides and enhancing connectivity for education, Fundación Ceibal will maintain close contact and communication with relevant policy makers across Latin America with the aim of providing technical assistance, and promoting cooperation and capacity building across the region. This will be done by the delivery of webinars, meetings with relevant experts and stakeholders, calls for ad hoc consultancies and research projects, and identifying assets and expertise of specific countries suitable to be shared with others, with the purpose of facilitating inclusive learning opportunities for children and youth during and after the COVID-19 crisis. In this context, the support and articulation between Ceibal Foundation and Ceibal Plan -one of the leading digital education programmes in the developing world-, would be particularly relevant for promoting informed decisions among policy makers.

Ceibal Foundation is committed to promote, develop and coordinate research, innovation and knowledge building on technology and learning, in collaboration with the national and international community. It aims to become a world-class centre that leads research, analysis and reflection on education and innovation, in order to generate better opportunities for social inclusion and learning, in dialogue with Plan Ceibal and the community. Since its creation, in 2014, the Foundation managed to position itself as a recognized institution at national, regional and international level, with a focus on the integration of digital resources and practices to promote inclusive and quality education. The Foundation has already implemented 70 projects, 60 conferences and 150 publications, including the creation and coordination of the Latin American Alliance for the Digitalization of Education (ADELA). In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation collected and collated data from policy makers across the region in order to identify relevant needs to guarantee pedagogical continuity. Within the framework of the Coalition’s missions, the Foundation will build on the needs of policy makers to provide technical advice, and promote cooperation and capacity building across countries in Latin American.
